Uniting Conversations: a good climate for change

  • Seacliff Uniting Church 5 Wheatland Street Seacliff, SA, 5049 Australia (map)

As the impacts of climate change are being felt more acutely, it is more important than ever to better understand likely future impacts and, more importantly, what we can do as individuals and local communities to mitigate and adapt.

Please come along to discuss key issues with a panel of experts working on climate related issues in different professional spheres and meet like-minded people in your local community.

Panelists will be:

  • Ariella Helfgott, Director of Strategic Foresight, Department for Premier and Cabinet
Ariella lives in Marino and has expertise in scenario analysis, strategic thinking and resilience. She has applied this while working for the World Energy Council, the University of Oxford and the Australian Department of Defence, among others.

  • Nina Keath, Senior Environmental Planner, City of Onkaparinga
Nina is responsible for climate resilience at City of Onkaparinga. Her early career at Monash University was spent researching the ingredients required for transitioning towards more sustainable practices. Since returning to SA, she has relished the opportunity to apply social theory and watch it work in the real world.

  • Holger Maier, Professor of Environmental Engineering, University of Adelaide
Holger lives in Seacliff and teaches courses and works with industry and government on climate impact modelling, natural hazard risk management, the renewable energy transition and smart stormwater systems.
